Possible causes:

1. Log not clamped securely
2. Belts have flat spots
3. Worn band wheel bearings
4. Feed rate too fast
5. Loose bolts

Solutions:

1. Secure log firmly against log supports
2. Replace belts (p. 39)
3. Inspect/replace bearings
4. Slow feed rate
5. Tighten all bolts
