Our story
The company's roots go back to 1998, when Omer Vallée started exploiting his woodlot in Saint-Denis-de-Brompton, Quebec. In search of an affordable, durable and easy-to-use sawmill for his personal projects, he came up against a very limited product offering. Omer decided to buy a small, rudimentary sawmill and modify it to better suit his needs.
Omer's sawmill is quickly gaining popularity in his town. A neighbor, wishing to acquire similar equipment, asked Omer if he could build one for him. Although the portable sawmill industry was not one of Omer's initial objectives, he agreed to build a second unit for his neighbor. Thus was born the Vallee portable sawmill.
Between 1998 and 2008, approximately 50 portable sawmills were manufactured and sold. In 2008, Omer's son Pascal Vallée, who had been assisting his father for over a decade, created Pascal Métal inc. with the ambition of producing larger volumes of portable sawmills. Pascal, seeking to diversify his offering, then founded Pascal International inc. a company specializing in the import and sale of affordable foreign-made forestry equipment. The company introduces the Red Runner product line, aimed at expanding its offering for both hobby and occasional forestry workers. In 2018, Pascal Métal inc. and Pascal International inc. merge to become Vallee Forestry Equipment.
Since its creation, Vallee Forestry Equipment has sold thousands of portable sawmills and other forestry equipment in Canada and the United States. The company now counts over 30 employees and benefits from the support of a large network of dedicated dealers. Continuing to innovate and adapt to changing market needs, Vallee Forestry Equipment is committed to maintaining the quality that has made its reputation, ensuring its growth in the forestry sector for years to come.
