WARRANTY ON VALLEE FORESTRY EQUIPMENT PRODUCTS
Vallee Forestry Equipment® offers all customers of Vallee Portable Sawmills® and Red Runner® products a free legal warranty at the time of purchase.
For other brands (Metavic®, Portable Winch®, Logrite®, Oregon®, etc.) sold by Vallee Forestry Equipment®, please refer to the warranty of the respective manufacturer.
VALLEE PORTABLE SAWMILLS
Hydraulic components, connectors and all electrical components such as the winch, battery and lights are guaranteed for 1 year.
Welds, paint, frame and related components are guaranteed for 3 years. Any problem resulting from a manufacturing defect of the sawmill is also guaranteed for 3 years.
The warranty is in effect from the date you take possession of your portable sawmill.
The warranty excludes wearing parts such as the blade, belts, bearings, brake, etc.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by the negligence of the sawmill. Parts broken as a result of misuse or use not recommended by the user’s manual are not covered by this warranty.
RED RUNNER PRODUCTS
Hydraulic components, connectors, welds, paint, electrical components, chassis and related components are guaranteed for 1 year.
Any problem resulting from a manufacturing or assembly defect of the machine is guaranteed for 1 year.
The warranty is in effect from the date you take possession of your machine.
The warranty excludes wearing parts such as the blade, belts, bearings, etc.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by negligence. Parts broken as a result of misuse or use not recommended by the user’s manual are not covered by this warranty.
ACCESSORIES
Accessories and other optional equipment are guaranteed for 1 year excluding wear parts.
COMMERCIAL USE
If your machine is purchased in the name of a business, even for tax purposes, it will automatically be subject to the commercial use warranty.
The warranty for commercial use is defined by a number of years and total working hours.
For Vallee Portable Sawmills®, the warranty is 100 hours or 3 years.
For Red Runner® products, the warranty is 50 hours or 1 year.
DEMONSTRATOR UNIT
Vallée Équipement Forestier® does not provide a warranty for this type of product.
The legal warranty offered on the purchase of a machine marked “demonstrator” is at the discretion of the dealer making the sale. It is the responsibility of the dealer to determine the applicable warranty in this case based on the age and hours of the machine. A warranty agreement must be signed by the buyer and seller at the time of purchase.
Vallee Forestry Equipment® is not responsible for warranty claims on machines marked “demonstrator”.
CLAIMS
When a machine needs warranty work, Vallee Forestry Equipment® will provide the repair service and/or replacement parts at no charge to the owner of the machine. It is important to note that the replacement part will be shipped free of charge to the customer’s dealer of record, i.e. where the machine was originally purchased. It is therefore the customer’s responsibility to transport the machine or the defective part to his dealer. If the customer asks to have the part delivered directly to his home, delivery charges will be applied.
Vallee Forestry Equipment® reserves the right to choose the carrier that will be responsible for shipping replacement parts and/or equipment. Any request for priority shipping will be granted if possible, at an additional cost to the customer.
All warranty claims must be documented with pictures and videos as well as the defective part itself, so that Vallee Forestry Equipment® can analyze the failure and proceed with the claim.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by negligence. Parts broken as a result of misuse or use not recommended by the user’s manual are not covered by this warranty.
The following are some items (but not limited to) that will require maintenance by the customer. These parts are not covered by this warranty for normal wear and tear:
Vallee Forestry Equipment® is committed to doing everything in its power to maintain a minimum inventory of replacement parts. Exceptionally, it may be necessary to order parts from external suppliers. However, Vallee Forestry Equipment® is not responsible for any damages (monetary, material, contractual, etc.) caused by the unavailability or delay in shipping replacement parts. Vallee Forestry Equipment® shall not be liable for any loss, damage or incidental expense, resulting directly or indirectly from product failure, whether the claim is based on breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence or any other legal theory. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Vallee Forestry Equipment® expressly disclaims any damages related to loss of profits, business, revenue or goodwill; any expense or loss incurred for labor, supplies, replacement machinery or rental; or any other type of property or financial damage.
In no event shall Vallee Forestry Equipment® be liable for death, personal injury, property damage or any other damages resulting from the use of its products.
Vallee Forestry Equipment® reserves the right to make the final decision regarding warranty eligibility.
CANCELLATION OF THE WARRANTY
Any unauthorized modifications to the machine will render the warranty completely null and void. Modifications include, but are not limited to, welding, engine modification, pump and/or hydraulic system modification, etc.
The warranty is also null and void if the user does not follow the instructions in the user’s manual and the product’s maintenance schedule.
Any attempt to bypass or modify the time counter will immediately void the warranty.
ENGINE WARRANTY
A 1-year warranty is offered by the manufacturers of Kohler® and Lifan® engines.
For Honda® and Vanguard® (Briggs and Stratton®) engines intended for personal use, the manufacturers provide a 3-year warranty.
In all cases, the engine warranty is applied directly by the engine manufacturer. Any service, repairs or claims associated with the engine warranty must be performed by the manufacturer or a manufacturer’s authorized shop.
A dated and signed proof of purchase will be required for any warranty claim. In addition, the manufacturer’s serial number must be included on your original proof of purchase.
Vallee Forestry Equipment® is not responsible for warranty claims on engines or any related components. Under no circumstances will Vallee Forestry Equipment® perform any repairs on an engine under manufacturer’s warranty, unless authorized by the manufacturer.
